The 7mm Backcountry was built to push heavy bullets fast out of short barrels, and Weatherby leaned into that idea with the 307 Range SF. The 20 inch heavy contour barrel keeps the whole rifle at 39.5 inches overall, which makes a real difference threading through timber or sliding it into a scabbard, and the cartridge still delivers velocities you'd normally need a 24 inch tube to reach.
