The PDP F-Series Pro-E sits in an interesting spot in the Walther lineup. It bridges the gap between the standard PDP and the top-tier Pro SD, bringing factory upgrades like the Dynamic Performance Trigger Enhanced (DPT-E) and a polymer magwell to a frame that was specifically engineered for shooters with smaller or medium-sized hands. Walther did not just shrink a full-size grip and call it a day. They redesigned the frame geometry from the ground up, scanning hundreds of hands to land on a reduced grip circumference, a more upright grip angle, and a shorter trigger reach that lets you maintain a proper grip and still get your finger squarely on the trigger.
The Pro-E designation adds real substance over the base F-Series. The polymer magwell is flared to guide reloads and paired with polymer +3 basepads on each magazine, pushing capacity to 18 rounds per mag. Plenty of male shooters with average or even larger hands find the ergonomics work well for them too, because a shorter trigger reach is never really a disadvantage.
The Pro-E adds a factory upgrade package over the base F-Series. The biggest additions are the DPT-E flat-faced polymer Dynamic Performance Trigger, a polymer magwell for faster reloads, and polymer +3 basepads on the included 18-round magazines. The trigger in particular gets consistent high marks from reviewers for its clean break and short reset, making it noticeably better than the standard PDP trigger.
The slide is cut and ready to accept optics via Walther's adapter plate system, but an optic plate is not included in the box. You will need to purchase the plate that matches your specific red dot sight. Walther and several third-party manufacturers offer compatible plates for popular red dots like the Shield RMSc, Holosun 507K, and others.
This model ships with three 18-round magazines, each equipped with polymer +3 basepads. A 10-round version is also available for restricted areas. The magazines are steel-bodied and feed reliably with both FMJ and hollow-point defensive ammunition.
