The Walker's Cloak Dual Mic Electronic Muff is one of those pieces of gear that just makes range days better. It shields your ears from the crack of gunfire with a Noise Reduction Rating of 23-25 dB, but the clever part is the Sound Activated Compression tech that reacts in a split second, clamping down on the loud impulse noise while letting normal sound flow right back in. That means you can still hear the safety officer, chat with the folks next to you, and stay tuned into what's happening around you without pulling a cup off your ear every few minutes.
Instead of a single microphone, this set runs dual Hi-Gain omnidirectional mics paired with full dynamic-range HD speakers. The result is clear, balanced sound with a better sense of where noise is coming from, which is handy whether you're calling shots on a target or tracking movement in the field. The housing is a sound-dampening design with a bonded rubber coating, so it keeps distracting background noise out and holds up to being tossed in and out of a range bag.
Walker's built these for long sessions. The headband is padded and non-slip, the ear cushions are soft, and wire-adjustable pads help you dial in the fit. When you're done, the whole thing folds down flat to tuck into a pack or drawer. The controls are silent digital soft-touch buttons, so adjusting volume is easy and you won't get any annoying clicks or beeps working against you.
They run on two AAA batteries, and Walker's includes them, so you can pull these out of the packaging and put them to work the same day. Between the protection level, the enhanced hearing, and the fair price point, the Cloak Dual Mic is a solid pick for new shooters, families sharing gear at the range, and anyone who wants dependable electronic muffs without a lot of fuss.
SAC technology reacts in a split second to loud impulse noise like gunfire, dropping it down to a safe level. The moment the noise passes, normal sound comes right back through the microphones. This lets you stay protected while still hearing range commands and conversation around you.
The Cloak Dual Mic runs on two AAA batteries, and Walker's includes them in the box. That means you can pull them out of the packaging and use them the same day without a trip to the store.
For most rifle, pistol, and shotgun range use, an NRR in the 23-25 dB range is a solid level of protection and typical for electronic muffs in this class. If you're around especially loud calibers or shooting indoors, a lot of folks double up with foam earplugs underneath for extra coverage.
Walker's designed these with a padded, non-slip headband, soft ear cushions, and wire-adjustable pads to help dial in the fit. They also fold flat when you're finished, so they store easily in a range bag or pack.
