The PDP Pro ACRO Compact is one of those guns that makes you wonder why more manufacturers don't do this. Instead of shipping an optics-ready pistol and leaving you to figure out which red dot fits and how to mount it, Walther went ahead and direct-milled the slide specifically for the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 and dropped the optic right on from the factory. The result is a low-mounted, rock-solid enclosed-emitter red dot that co-witnesses with the tritium night sights and sits as close to the bore as possible. Zeroing it is your only task out of the box.
The Aimpoint ACRO P-2 is no afterthought. It was the first pistol red dot to feature a fully enclosed optical channel, which means the LED emitter is sealed off from dirt, rain, mud, and everything else the real world throws at it. With a 3.5 MOA dot, 10 brightness settings (four of which are night vision compatible), and a battery rated for up to 50,000 hours of constant-on runtime, this is a legitimate duty-grade optic paired with a legitimate duty-grade pistol.
The pistol side of the equation holds up just as well. Walther's Dynamic Performance Trigger is a flat-faced unit with a clean break and a short, positive reset that makes follow-up shots feel almost effortless. The Performance Duty grip texture gives you a secure hold without being uncomfortable, and the grip angle is designed with red dot ergonomics in mind, helping you find the dot quickly on the draw. The SuperTerrain slide serrations are deep and aggressive, making slide manipulation confident even with wet hands or gloves.
