The Viridian XTL Gen 3 is one of the few weapon lights that does double duty. The 500-lumen white LED throws a bright, usable beam for close to medium-range target ID, and there's a strobe option on top of the standard constant and momentary modes. Activation is ambidextrous, with a two-stage momentary switch that works well whether you're right or left handed. Viridian's patented INSTANT-ON technology fires up the light and camera automatically when you draw from a compatible holster, so you're not thinking about buttons under stress.
The housing is 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum paired with high-grade polymer, and it carries an IPX7 waterproof rating that shrugs off rain and brief submersion. It mounts to any Picatinny or Weaver rail and fits most full-sized railed handguns and long guns. The removable, rechargeable lithium battery can be charged on the gun through the USB port or swapped out and topped off in an external charger, so a backup battery keeps you running with no downtime. It also drops into most holsters cut for the Streamlight TLR-1, which makes finding carry gear a lot simpler.
