The VTAC Original Sling, better known as the MK1, is the flagship design that made Viking Tactics a household name in the shooting world. Built around a slim 1-inch nylon body in black, it's a no-frills two-point sling that does exactly what a working sling should: hold your rifle close when you need your hands free, and get out of the way the second you shoulder up. Kyle Lamb built this thing for a collapsible-stock AR platform, but folks run them on everything from AR pistols and shotguns to bolt guns.
The heart of the sling is the quick-adjust cam buckle, the same style part that's been used by the U.S. military for years. Pull the tab to snug the rifle tight against your body for a stable position or to lock it down for climbing and running, then pull the cam buckle to release slack in an instant. That on-the-fly adjustment is the whole point, and it means you're not stopping to fiddle with hardware mid-string. Two acetyl buckles at each end handle the length setup and give the sling real strength.
The MK1 is made from resin-treated, friction-resistant nylon that's designed to hold up through years of hard use.
