Description

The Unity ModButton Lite is the trimmed-down version of the switch that put Unity Tactical on the map. It keeps the same high-power cable and momentary-only switch as the original ModButton but drops the integrated mount, so you get a smaller, lighter footprint on the rail without giving up the guts that make it work. This one ships in Flat Dark Earth with a 7-inch cable and a MIL-STD Crane laser plug, making it the right pick when you're wiring up a visible or IR laser rather than a white light.

Why the ModButton Lite Runs Lasers Right

The patented Unity design was built to pass the current that older legacy switches choke on, which is a big deal if you've ever watched a light or laser run below its rated output because the switch couldn't keep up. The Crane plug is the standard MIL-STD interface, so it drops right into ports on units like the PEQ-15, DBAL, B.E. Meyers MAWL, and Wilcox RAIDx. Activation is momentary only, meaning press to fire and release to kill it, which is exactly what most folks want on a laser setup.

Built to Take a Beating

The ModButton Lite housing is injection-molded and fully potted, so the internals are sealed against moisture, dust, and the general abuse that gear picks up in the field. At right around an ounce and change, it barely registers on your setup. It comes with hardware to clamp onto a 1913 Picatinny rail out of the box, and if you're running M-LOK, Unity and Modlite both offer an adapter to make that work.

Picking the 7-Inch Crane Version

That longer 7-inch lead gives you extra slack to route the cable cleanly around a longer handguard or reach a laser mounted further forward. If your gear sits closer to the switch, the 4.5-inch version usually has plenty of reach, but the 7-inch is the safe bet when you need the room. Keep in mind this is the single-lead Crane laser plug, so it's dedicated to running your laser, not a Scout-body light.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which lasers does the ModButton Lite Crane plug work with?

The MIL-STD Crane laser plug is built to fit standard laser ports from makers like L-3Harris, Steiner, and B.E. Meyers. That covers common units such as the PEQ-15, LA-5, DBAL, B.E. Meyers MAWL, and Wilcox RAIDx. If your laser uses a standard Crane-spec port, this switch will plug right in.

Should I get the 7-inch or the 4.5-inch ModButton Lite?

Go with the 7-inch when you need extra cable to route around a longer handguard or reach a laser mounted further out on the rail. For most tighter setups the 4.5-inch has enough length to reach from the top rail. When in doubt, the 7-inch gives you more room to work with and you can always tuck the slack.

Is the ModButton Lite momentary only, or can it do constant-on?

This switch is momentary only, so it fires while you press and shuts off when you let go. There's no built-in lockout or constant-on mode on the switch itself. If constant-on is a must for your build, that function has to come from the device or tailcap it's paired with.

Does the ModButton Lite come ready to mount on M-LOK?

It ships with hardware to clamp onto a 1913 Picatinny rail right out of the box. If you're running an M-LOK handguard, you'll want to grab the separate M-LOK adapter that Unity and Modlite offer. That adapter lets the same switch bolt cleanly to M-LOK slots.
