The Troy Gen2 SOCC M-LOK BattleRail is a 9.6-inch free-float handguard built for people who want a clean, controllable front end without adding bulk to their AR-15. Troy pulled this design from their Special Operations Compatible Carbine project, so it carries a slim, snag-free profile that shines up close while still locking up tight enough for longer shots. It runs a full-length Picatinny top rail up top, which leaves plenty of room for backup irons, IR lasers, or any aiming setup you want to run in a straight line with your receiver.
M-LOK slots run across the other surfaces of the rail, so you get real freedom to place a weapon light, vertical or angled grip, bipod, or pressure switch exactly where your hands and gear want them. The ultra-low profile is a big part of the appeal here, especially if you shoot with a C-clamp grip and like getting your support hand way out front. Troy also added built-in texturing along the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock M-LOK panels, which gives you more purchase than a plain slick rail when your hands are sweaty, gloved, or just working hard.
The rail is machined from American-sourced 6061 T-6 aluminum in Clarksville, TN, so it stays light without feeling flimsy. It mounts to a standard mil-spec AR-15/M4 barrel nut using Troy's quad-clamp system, which means you are not stuck buying a proprietary barrel nut and your rail-mounted gear holds zero once it is torqued down. Four anti-rotation, quick-detach sling swivel mounts are worked into the design, so you can hang a sling without bolting on extra hardware.
