The factory front sight on the Bodyguard 2.0 is fine for what it is, but if you carry this little .380 for serious low-light work, an upgrade like the Trijicon HD XR set makes a real difference. This is the orange outline configuration (MPN 601182) cut specifically for the Bodyguard 2.0, so you get a proper factory-matched fit instead of a compromise. The front sight carries a green tritium lamp wrapped in a glow-in-the-dark orange outline, while the rear runs a green tritium lamp with a subdued black outline so it stays out of the way when you're focusing up front.
The HD XR line builds on Trijicon's proven HD sights but leans on a thinner .122-inch front post. That skinnier post opens up your field of view around the sight, which helps you see more of the target and pick up hits at distance. Up front you get a domed sapphire cap over the tritium that focuses the glow into an aiming point Trijicon rates at 2X brighter, and it draws your eye fast in any lighting. The rear features an angled, serrated U-notch that cuts glare and keeps your attention locked on that front dot.
These are made to survive real carry. The tritium lamps sit inside protective aluminum cylinders with silicone rubber cushioning to shrug off recoil and rough handling, and the sapphire caps help shield the lamps from cleaning solvents. The green tritium is warranted by Trijicon for 12 years from the date of manufacture, so you get years of dependable no-battery glow whether it's stashed in a nightstand or riding in a pocket holster.
The Bodyguard 2.0 is built for deep concealment and close-range defense, and a self-illuminating sight setup is exactly the kind of practical add-on that pays off when the lights are low. Trijicon recommends professional installation to get everything seated and zeroed right, and a good gunsmith or your local shop can knock that out quickly.
Yes. This set (part number 601182 / SA638-C-601182) is cut specifically for the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0, so you get a factory-matched fit. It replaces both the front and rear factory sights on that pistol.
No batteries required. The illumination comes from self-contained green tritium lamps that glow on their own, day or night, with no charging or button pressing. The front outline is also photoluminescent, so it soaks up light and glows during quick transitions from bright to dark.
Trijicon warranties the green tritium lamps for 12 years from the date of manufacture. The lamps are sealed in aluminum cylinders with silicone cushioning and capped with sapphire to protect them from recoil and solvents, so they hold up well over years of carry.
Trijicon recommends professional installation to make sure everything is seated correctly and your point of impact stays true. A gunsmith or your local shop can press these on quickly, and it's worth doing right on a carry gun. If you have a sight pusher and experience, some folks do handle it at home.
