That gas system also does a nice job soaking up recoil, which matters in a gun this light, and the factory rubber recoil pad helps keep things comfortable through a full case of shells. The bolt locks open after your last round, and the 5+1 capacity gives you plenty on tap for the field. TriStar tests this platform hard, and it's backed by a five-year warranty.
The 26-inch vent rib barrel wears a fiber optic front sight that stands out in low light, whether that's a gray morning in the dove field or late afternoon on station five. The chamber and bore are chrome lined for easy cleanup and long-term durability. Choke threading is the Beretta/Benelli Mobil pattern, one of the most common on the market, so aftermarket tubes are everywhere when you want to fine-tune your patterns. Three chokes come in the box along with a wrench, and a shim kit lets you adjust the stock fit to your build.

Yes, that's one of the strengths of this gas system. The 3-inch chamber and gas-operated action are designed to run everything from light 7/8 oz target loads up to heavier hunting loads interchangeably. As with any new gas gun, a short break-in period with mid-weight loads helps everything settle in.
It uses the Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke thread pattern, which is one of the most widely supported in the industry. Three tubes come in the box, Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full, along with a choke box and wrench. Aftermarket options from Carlson's, Briley, and others are easy to find in Mobil threads.
The Pro is the step-up version of the platform. It adds a bronze Cerakote steel receiver, higher-grade Turkish walnut with cut checkering and a semi-gloss finish, and ships with a stock shim kit so you can tune the fit. The core gas action and Mobil choke system carry over from the standard G2.
It's a strong choice. At roughly 6.2 pounds with a soft-shooting gas action and a rubber recoil pad, felt recoil is mild even with heavier field loads. The included shim kit also lets you adjust the stock to get a proper fit, which makes a big difference in comfort and consistency.
