Description

Left-handed hunters know the drill. Most semi-autos toss hulls right past your face, and the good lefty options tend to cost a small fortune. The TriStar Viper G2 LH fixes that. This is a dedicated left-hand action, gauged and built for southpaws, with a gas system that cycles everything from light target loads to heavy 3-inch waterfowl shells without you touching a thing. TriStar runs the Viper G2 through a 5,000 round endurance test, and it has earned a reputation as one of the better values in the semi-auto world.

Built for the Blind: Viper G2 LH Field Features

The 28-inch chrome-lined barrel wears a vent rib with a matted sight plane and a fiber optic front sight that picks up light even on gray, drizzly mornings. Full Realtree Max-7 camo covers the synthetic stock and metalwork, and the SoftTouch finish gives the stock a grippy, comfortable feel with wet hands or gloves. A rubber recoil pad takes the sting out of heavy loads, and the gas operation soaks up a good chunk of felt recoil on its own. At 6.8 pounds, it carries easily on long walks but has enough weight up front to swing smooth on crossing birds.

Chokes, Capacity, and the Little Things

The removable choke system runs Beretta/Benelli Mobil threads, so aftermarket tubes are everywhere if you want to fine-tune patterns for turkey or steel shot. Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full tubes come in the box along with a wrench, and a shot plug is included for migratory seasons. You also get a manual E-Z Load magazine cut-off, a chrome-lined chamber for easier cleanup, and a shim kit to adjust stock fit to your build. TriStar backs it all with a five-year warranty.

Why the Viper G2 Left Hand Earns Its Spot

Lefties finally get a soft-shooting, do-it-all 12 gauge without settling for a mirror-image compromise or a flagship price tag. From September doves to late-season mallards, this one is set up to work hard and stay hidden.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the TriStar Viper G2 LH a true left-handed shotgun?

Yes, this is a dedicated left-hand model, not a converted right-hand gun. The ejection port sits on the left side of the receiver, so spent hulls fly away from your face instead of across it. It is one of the few affordable lefty semi-autos on the market, which is a big part of why it has such a loyal following.

Will the Viper G2 cycle light target loads or does it need heavy shells?

The gas-operated action is designed to run everything from light 2-3/4 inch target loads up to heavy 3-inch waterfowl shells interchangeably, with no adjustments needed. Like most gas guns, give it a proper cleaning and a couple boxes of shells to break in, and it settles into reliable cycling across the load spectrum.

What choke tubes fit the TriStar Viper G2?

The barrel is threaded for the Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke pattern, one of the most common thread systems out there. Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full tubes ship with the gun, and aftermarket options for turkey, waterfowl, and clays are easy to find from brands like Carlson's and Trulock.

Is this a good waterfowl gun?

It was practically built for the duck blind. The 3-inch chamber handles standard steel shot loads, the Realtree Max-7 camo keeps you concealed in marsh grass and flooded timber, and the chrome-lined barrel and chamber make cleanup easier after wet hunts. The included shot plug drops capacity for migratory bird regulations, and the fiber optic front sight shows up well in low light.
