This is the second generation of their most affordable semi-auto line, and the updates are the kind you notice the first time you pick it up: a redesigned synthetic stock and forend, an oversized operating handle and bolt release you can run with cold or gloved hands, and a softer recoil pad that takes the sting out of a long day of shooting. The gas system bleeds off a portion of each shot's pressure to cycle the action, which spreads recoil out and keeps this 7.1-pound gun comfortable through a full case of shells.
The 28-inch vent rib barrel and 3-inch chamber give the Raptor II Field genuine range, from light target loads at the clays course to stout waterfowl and turkey shells in the fall. The chamber and barrel are chrome lined for corrosion resistance and easier cleanup, and the red fiber optic front sight pops against gray skies and dark timber alike. Capacity is 5+1, and a removable shot plug is included for hunting with a limited magazine. Sling swivel studs come standard, which is a nice touch on a gun at this level.
TriStar ships this one with Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full choke tubes plus a wrench, and the threading is the common Beretta/Benelli Mobil pattern. That means aftermarket tubes are everywhere if you want to add a turkey choke or open things up for skeet. Pattern it with the included three and you are covered for doves, pheasants, ducks, and clays without buying anything extra.

Like most budget-friendly gas guns, it benefits from a short break-in period with heavier loads before it fully smooths out with the lightest stuff. Keep the gas system reasonably clean and it stays reliable.
It uses the Beretta/Benelli Mobil thread pattern, one of the most common choke systems out there. Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full tubes come in the box along with a wrench, so you are covered for most hunting and clay work. Aftermarket options like extended turkey or skeet chokes in the Mobil pattern will thread right in.
