These are taller three-dot tritium night sights that raise your line of sight above a can and give you a dependable co-witness or lower-third backup behind a red dot like the RMRcc. The front features a green tritium lamp wrapped in a bright orange outline for fast pickup in daylight, paired with a black-outlined green rear so your eye lands on the front dot where it should.
The illumination is battery-free, so there is nothing to charge or replace. Trijicon uses tritium phosphor lamps that self-illuminate in low light and dark conditions, and each green lamp carries a 12-year warranty from the date of manufacture. In bright light the painted outlines take over, giving you a usable sight picture across the full range of lighting you actually run into.
Durability is where Trijicon earned its name. Each tritium lamp is capped with a sapphire jewel that spreads the light evenly and shields the lamp from cleaning solvents and puncture. The GL243 set is made for the slim-frame Glock lineup, covering the 42, 43, 43X, 43E, and 48. It is not intended for the standard double-stack frames like the 17 or 19. If your pistol is a single-stack or slim 9mm/.380 Glock, this set is the right match.
Trijicon recommends professional installation, and there is good reason for it. The rear sight is a tight press fit and the front requires the correct Glock front sight tool to seat properly without damaging the lamps. If you have a sight pusher and the right front tool you can tackle it at home, but a gunsmith will get it seated and zeroed quickly.
