The USP is a rugged pistol that deserves a sight set to match, and Trijicon's HD Night Sights bring the whole package together. This set pairs green tritium lamps in a classic three-dot layout with a taller front blade wrapped in a photoluminescent orange ring. The idea is speed: your eye snaps to that big orange front dot in a hurry, whether you're on the range in daylight or clearing a dark hallway. The rear sight runs a wider U-shaped notch outlined in black, which frames the front sight cleanly and keeps you from fishing around for your aiming point when the pressure's on.
Tritium is the heart of any real night sight, and Trijicon protects theirs well. The gas lamps sit inside aluminum cylinders with silicone rubber cushioning, so they shrug off heavy recoil and harsh cleaning solvents. Each lamp is capped with a sapphire jewel that spreads the glow evenly and adds another layer of protection. That orange photoluminescent paint on the front outline also charges up in ambient light, giving you a visible aiming point in that tricky transitional lighting where a lot of sights disappear.
The green tritium lamps are warranted to glow for 12 years from the date of manufacture, so you're getting a set that earns its keep over the long run. The steel and aluminum construction is the same tough build that's put Trijicon on the slides of law enforcement and serious pistol shooters for decades. The front of the rear sight is also steeply hooked, giving you a hard edge to catch on a belt or boot heel if you ever need to rack the slide one-handed.
This HK106O set fits H&K USP models and installs as a direct upgrade over the factory sights. Sight swaps on the USP call for the right pusher tool and mounting block, so plan on having a gunsmith handle the install to keep everything clean and zeroed.
Yes, the HK106O set is designed to fit H&K USP model pistols. It installs as a direct replacement for the factory sights. If you have a USP Compact or a different H&K model, double-check the part number, since Trijicon makes separate sets for those.
Professional installation is recommended. The USP uses a specific mounting block, and you'll want the correct sight pusher to seat the sights properly without damaging them. A gunsmith can get them installed and confirmed for zero quickly, which saves you the headache of tracking down the right tooling yourself.
The green tritium lamps are warranted to glow for 12 years from the date of manufacture. Tritium fades gradually over time rather than shutting off all at once, so you'll get many years of dependable low-light glow. The orange front outline is photoluminescent paint that charges in ambient light, adding daytime visibility on top of the tritium.
The orange photoluminescent outline surrounds the front tritium lamp and draws your eye straight to the front sight, which is exactly where your focus should be. It stands out in daylight and transitional lighting where plain black sights can blend into the target. Combined with the taller front blade and green tritium, it makes for fast, natural sight acquisition.
