The Trijicon HD Night Sights bring one of the most trusted names in tritium to your Springfield XD. This is a full three-dot set with a taller front blade ringed in bright orange photoluminescent paint and a green tritium lamp at its center. That combination is the whole idea behind the HD line: give your eye something that snaps into focus the second you present the gun, whether you're in daylight, deep shade, or a pitch-black room.
Each tritium lamp is sealed inside an aluminum sleeve and capped with a sapphire jewel, which spreads the glow evenly and shields the lamp from cleaning solvents and hard knocks. The front blade runs 0.144 inches wide and 0.264 inches tall, paired with a rear sight that sits at 0.309 inches and features a wide U-shaped notch outlined in black. Blacking out the rear while lighting up the front is a deliberate move. It pulls your eye straight to that orange circle instead of splitting your focus across three matching dots.
The rear sight is angled and serrated to cut glare, and the front face is hooked steeply enough to rack the slide one-handed against a belt or holster in an emergency. That's the kind of detail that comes from designing around law enforcement and defensive use. Folks with aging eyes tend to love the orange front, since it pops in bright sun and stays easy to line up, and the dot spacing on the XD sits close enough to align quickly under pressure.
This set covers the Springfield XD, XD-M, and XD Mod.2 families, though optics-ready and OSP models are the exception. Because one sight design serves all the XD calibers, you may see a slight shift in point of aim versus point of impact depending on your load, so confirm your zero at the range. The green tritium carries a 12-year warranty from the date of manufacture, and Trijicon recommends professional installation to seat everything correctly in the dovetails.

Trijicon recommends professional installation, and there's good reason for it. The dovetails often need a proper sight pusher and sometimes light fitting to seat correctly without marring the sight or slide. A gunsmith can knock it out quickly and make sure everything is aligned.
The green tritium lamps carry a 12-year warranty from the date of manufacture. Tritium glows on its own without needing a light charge, so the front and rear dots stay visible in total darkness. Each lamp is capped with a sapphire jewel to protect it and spread the light evenly.
The blacked-out rear pulls your eye straight to the orange-ringed front dot instead of splitting focus across three matching dots. That orange photoluminescent ring is easy to pick up in bright daylight and transitional light, which speeds up front sight acquisition. When it gets dark, all three green tritium dots come into play for alignment.
