Trijicon took decades of tritium and fiber optic know-how and rolled it all into the DI Night Sight Set. The front sight pairs a green fiber optic with a tritium lamp capped by a sapphire jewel, so the aiming point stays sharp whether you're in bright daylight, fading dusk, or total darkness. The rear runs green tritium with a black outline and a clean U-notch, keeping your focus where it belongs: on that front dot. No batteries, no switches, just an always-on reference you can trust when it counts.
The standout here is the interchangeable fiber. A threaded retainer cap on the front sight lets you swap the fiber yourself, right in the field, without a trip to the gunsmith. On top of that, you can pick from green, amber, orange, and red fiber and retainer colors to build an aiming point that matches your eyes and your environment. It's a rare bit of customization in the night sight world, and the ACOG-grade fiber finishing means it holds up to heat and chemicals.
The fiber optic and tritium vial sit inside a housing machined from solid steel, so this set is built to take the beating that comes with daily carry. The rear sight also features a steeply hooked front face, which gives you an edge for one-handed slide manipulation against a belt or boot heel if your hands are ever compromised. It drops into the factory dovetail on the XD-S and XD-E and rides low and snag-free.
Professional installation is the way to go with this set, since pistol sights need the right press and drivers to seat correctly. Get it fitted properly and you've got a battery-free, any-light aiming solution backed by the reliability Trijicon has earned over the years.
No, they run completely battery-free. The green fiber optic gathers ambient light for daytime brightness, while a self-illuminating tritium lamp keeps the aiming point glowing in low light and total darkness. You get a constant reference point without ever charging or switching anything on.
Yes, that's one of the biggest selling points. A threaded retainer cap on the front sight lets you unscrew and replace the fiber in the field, so a lost or damaged piece doesn't sideline your setup. Trijicon also offers green, amber, orange, and red fibers and retainers so you can tune the color to your eyes.
This particular set (part number 601118) is cut for the Springfield XD-S and XD-E and drops into the factory dovetails. It is not made for the full-size XD, XD-M, or XD Mod.2, which use a different DI set. Always match the sight model to your exact pistol before ordering.
Professional installation is recommended. Pistol sights need a proper sight press and the correct drivers to seat squarely without damaging the sight or the slide. A gunsmith can knock it out quickly and make sure everything lines up right.
