The Trijicon HD Night Sight Set turns your Beretta 92A1 or 96A1 into a pistol that's genuinely easy to run in bad light. The whole idea here is front sight focus. The front blade sits a touch taller than stock and wears a wide ring of orange photoluminescent paint around a green tritium lamp, so your eye snaps to it instantly whether you're on the range at noon or clearing a dim hallway at 2 a.m. Pair that with a blacked-out rear and a wide U-shaped notch, and you get a sight picture that's quick to line up and hard to lose.
These were built with law enforcement and military duty use in mind, and it shows in the details. The rear sight has a steeply hooked front face, which gives you a ledge to rack the slide one-handed against a belt or boot if a hand goes down. The rear is also angled and serrated to cut glare, and the black rings on the rear dots keep your focus pulled forward where it belongs.
Each green tritium lamp is sealed inside an aluminum sleeve and capped with a sapphire jewel that spreads the light evenly and shrugs off cleaning solvents and impact. A protective clear coat over the paint keeps the orange bright even after years of powder residue and range wear. The green tritium lamps carry a 12-year warranty from the date of manufacture, so the glow is good for the long haul.
This set is cut for the Beretta 92A1 and 96A1, which have dovetailed front and rear sights. That's an important distinction, because a standard 92FS or M9A1 uses a fixed front sight machined into the slide and won't accept the front sight from this kit. Front sight measures 0.144" wide and 0.294" tall, with the rear standing 0.333" tall. These press into the dovetails, so a sight pusher or a trip to your gunsmith is the way to go for a clean install.
Not fully. This set is designed for the 92A1 and 96A1, which have dovetailed front and rear sights. A standard 92FS or M9A1 has a fixed front sight built into the slide, so the front sight from this kit won't mount without milling. The rear sight will still fit those models, but check your slide before ordering if you want the complete set to work.
All three dots use green tritium for glow-in-the-dark aiming. The front dot is ringed in bright orange photoluminescent paint to grab your eye during daylight and transitional light, while the two rear dots are outlined in black to keep your focus on the front sight.
You can if you have the right tools. These sights press into the dovetail cuts, so a proper sight pusher makes for a clean job and helps avoid damaging the front blade during install. Many owners hand this one off to a gunsmith to be safe, and Trijicon recommends professional installation.
Tritium fades gradually over time, but Trijicon warranties the green lamps for 12 years from the date of manufacture. The sapphire jewel and aluminum sleeve protect the lamp and spread the light evenly, so you get years of reliable low-light performance out of the set.
