Running a suppressor or a slide-mounted red dot on your M&P means your factory irons suddenly sit too low to line up on target. That's exactly what these Trijicon Suppressor/Optic Height Sights fix. They're taller than standard sights, so you can pick up a clean sight picture right over the top of a mounted can, and they double as backup irons that co-witness with an optic like the Trijicon RMR. Even without a suppressor or optic bolted on, plenty of folks run them just for the raised sight plane and the reliable glow.
The glow comes from tritium, which needs no batteries and no charging. Each of the three dots uses a green tritium lamp that stays lit on its own, giving you a usable sight picture in low light and total darkness. In daylight, the white outline rings around each lamp make the dots pop so you're not hunting for your front sight when the sun's out. It's a genuine all-conditions setup.
Durability is where the Bright & Tough line earns its name. The lamps sit inside protective aluminum cylinders, cushioned with silicone rubber to soak up recoil, and each one is capped with a sapphire jewel that spreads the light evenly while shielding the tritium from cleaning solvents and impacts. The housings are metal, not plastic, so they take a beating on a carry or duty gun without flinching.
This set is cut for the Smith & Wesson M&P, M&P M2.0, SD9 VE, and SD40 VE. It does not fit the M&P Shield or the C.O.R.E. series, so double-check your slide before buying. Front blade runs 0.144 inches wide with an overall height of 0.445 inches and the rear sits at 0.444 inches. Trijicon recommends professional installation since these press in and need to be drifted for windage, and the tritium carries a 12-year warranty from the date of manufacture.

No. The extra height lets you aim over a mounted can, but plenty of people run them without a suppressor. They also work great as backup iron sights that co-witness with a slide-mounted optic like the Trijicon RMR, and some folks just prefer the taller sight plane and tritium glow.
The green tritium lamps glow on their own with no batteries or charging required. Trijicon warranties the tritium for 12 years from the date of manufacture, and the lamps are protected inside aluminum cylinders with silicone cushioning and sapphire caps to survive recoil and solvents.
Trijicon recommends professional installation. The sights press into the dovetails and need to be drifted for proper windage, which usually calls for a sight pusher rather than a hammer and punch. A gunsmith can knock it out quickly and get your point of aim dialed in.
