There's a reason so many hunters start out behind a pump gun. It's simple, dependable, and teaches good habits from day one. The Yukon Pump from TR Imports leans into all of that. This 12 gauge version wears a 28 inch vent rib barrel with a chrome moly lined bore, a bright fiber optic front sight, and warm wood furniture that gives it the look of a proper field gun instead of a bare-bones beater.
At around 7 pounds 2 ounces, this shotgun hits a sweet spot. It's light enough to tote through timber or across a cut cornfield all morning, but has enough heft up front to keep your swing smooth on crossing birds. The 14.5 inch length of pull fits most adult frames comfortably, and the 3 inch chamber means you can run everything from light target loads at the clays range to heavier hunting loads when the season opens. A 4+1 capacity keeps you in the game when the birds get up in bunches.
TR Imports built the Yukon series specifically to give newer hunters a gun that feels natural and builds confidence from the first outing, and it shows in the details. The action cycles without drama, the fiber optic front bead pulls your eye to the target fast in low light, and the vent rib helps keep your sight picture consistent shot to shot. TR Imports has spent over two decades importing Turkish-made shotguns, and this one carries that same practical, working-gun DNA.
Whether it's your first shotgun, a truck gun for dove season, or a straightforward loaner for guests at camp, the Yukon Pump 12 gauge covers a lot of ground without complicating things. Load it, shoulder it, and go hunt.
It's a great fit for that role. TR Imports designed the Yukon series around new hunters, so it's light, well balanced, and simple to run. The pump action is forgiving to learn on, and the 14.5 inch length of pull suits most adult frames right out of the box.
The 3 inch chamber gives you plenty of flexibility. You can shoot standard 2 3/4 inch target and field loads for clays and small game, then step up to 3 inch magnum loads for waterfowl or turkey. That range makes it a legitimate one-gun solution for most hunting seasons.
It weighs about 7 pounds 2 ounces, which is comfortable territory for a full-size 12 gauge pump. It's light enough for long walks in the field but not so light that recoil gets snappy or your swing feels twitchy. Balance is one of the strong points of the Yukon line.
It comes with a fiber optic front sight mounted on a ventilated rib barrel. The fiber optic bead gathers light and draws your eye quickly, which is a real advantage during early morning or late evening hunts. The vent rib also helps you build a consistent sight picture from shot to shot.
