The Volquartsen TL 2000 is the upgrade a lot of Ruger Mark II and Mark III owners reach for once they get tired of the loose, rattly feel of the stock rear sight. Every part of it is CNC milled from a solid steel billet, so instead of a sight that flexes and shifts, you get one that holds its zero and clicks with authority through the whole windage and elevation range. It drops right into the factory dovetail and locks down with two set screws, no gunsmithing needed for the standard install.
The rear leaf is serrated with a slight reverse angle, which cuts glare and sharpens up your sight picture in bright conditions. The notch runs .110" wide, giving you a clean, defined aiming reference that plenty of folks find easier to line up than the stock Ruger notch. For most installs, no. The sight drops into the factory dovetail and locks down with two set screws, so it is a job most owners handle at home with basic tools and a brass punch. Some fits may need a light touch of filing to seat perfectly, so take your time and test fit as you go.
The TL 2000 sits slightly taller than the factory Ruger rear sight, so on barrels shorter than about 6 7/8" it can print high even with elevation bottomed out.
