Victor cuts these rails from bar stock aluminum and finishes them with a Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized coating. That hard anodizing isn't just for looks. The non-rotating QD sling socket is a nice touch too, keeping your sling attachment steady instead of spinning around on you at the wrong moment.
