There are plenty of .22 rifles dressed up to look like an AR, but the Tippmann Arms M4-22 LTE is one of the few that gets the feel right too. Built in Fort Wayne, Indiana, this blowback-operated rimfire runs aluminum upper and lower receivers instead of the all-polymer construction you see on a lot of budget rimfire ARs. The charging handle, magazine release, safety, and bolt catch all sit right where your hands expect them, which is exactly what you want if you already run a centerfire AR and want a cheaper way to keep your reps sharp.
This version wears a 16 inch solid steel barrel with a Parkerized finish and a 1:16 twist that stabilizes standard velocity .22 LR just fine. The composite free float handguard keeps pressure off the barrel and gives you M-LOK real estate for a light or hand stop, while the full length Picatinny top rail pairs the included flip-up front and rear sights with whatever optic you want to add later. A black nitride plated bolt smooths out cycling and cleanup, and the Gen2 grip and CAR15-style stock round out the familiar M4 ergonomics. It feeds from a 10 round magazine for a 10+1 total, and the whole rifle comes in right around five pounds, so it points quick and won't wear out smaller framed folks during a long session.
Because the M4-22 LTE is largely mil-spec compatible, it accepts most AR-15 stocks, grips, handguards, and sights. That means you can mirror your centerfire setup piece by piece, or just build it out however you like as a standalone plinker. The mil-spec fire control group with a single-stage trigger keeps the pull crisp and predictable.

For the most part, yes. The M4-22 LTE is largely mil-spec compatible, so most AR-15 stocks, grips, handguards, and sights will bolt right on. That makes it easy to set this rifle up to match your centerfire AR for consistent training. Magazines are Tippmann's proprietary design, though, so stick with those for feeding.
Absolutely. The full length Picatinny top rail runs across the receiver and handguard, giving you plenty of room for a red dot, scope, or magnifier combo. The included flip-up sights fold down out of the way, so you can keep them on as backups.
Like most blowback rimfires, it runs best on quality standard or high velocity .22 LR. Owners report smooth cycling and good accuracy through hundreds of rounds with common bulk loads. As with any semi-auto rimfire, keeping the bolt and chamber reasonably clean goes a long way toward reliability.
It's one of the better picks out there. At roughly five pounds with next to no recoil and cheap ammo, it's easy for new folks to learn fundamentals without developing a flinch. And since the controls mirror a true M4, the skills transfer directly if they move up to a centerfire AR later.
