The factory trigger on a Howa 1500 is fine for a hunting rifle, but it's usually the first thing you notice holding you back at the range. Swapping in the Timney Featherweight Deluxe fixes that in one afternoon. This is a self-contained drop-in unit built around a lightweight aluminum alloy housing with wire EDM-cut, heat-treated steel working surfaces, so you're getting a genuinely crisp break with minimal creep and clean follow-through. It comes factory calibrated and ready to shoot at a 3 lb pull, and the nickel finish gives it a sharp, refined look inside the action.
Timney is the go-to name for Howa replacement triggers, and this one earns that reputation. Each unit is precision machined and individually hand-fitted, tested, and calibrated before it leaves the shop. The sear is Teflon-nickel coated for smooth, long-lasting engagement, and the whole assembly includes a two-position, trigger-blocking side safety that keeps the trigger locked when engaged. The curved trigger shoe gives you familiar, consistent finger placement shot after shot.
Out of the box this trigger is ready to go, but if you want to tune it to your taste, it's fully adjustable for sear engagement, over-travel, and pull weight anywhere from 1.5 to 4 lbs. Plenty of folks set theirs down in the 1.5 to 1.8 lb range for a featherlight target break, while hunters often leave it right around 3 lbs. The adjustment screws are up front with thread locker on the rear screw to prevent tampering.
Installation is about as simple as rifle work gets. Pull the action from the stock, remove the factory trigger screw, drop the Timney in, and secure it with the included screw. A dab of blue thread locker on that screw is a smart touch. Note this model is built for Howa 1500 and Weatherby Vanguard rifles with the factory two-position safety, and it does not fit Howa Mini Actions or the Superlite.
