The factory unit tends to be heavy and mushy, and it's the one thing holding back an otherwise seriously capable bullpup. The Timney 680 is Timney's answer to that. It's a complete, self-contained drop-in trigger and sear pack that's factory tuned with no creep, giving you a clean, repeatable break every time you press it.

What the Timney 680 Does for Your Tavor

Because of the extended linkage every bullpup relies on, this Timney trigger delivers a two-stage feel rather than the single-stage break Timney is known for on their AR line. You get a bit of light take-up on the first stage, then a crisp wall and a clean release on the second. It's a night-and-day difference from the long, gritty factory pull, and it's the kind of upgrade that tightens up your groups simply because you're no longer fighting the trigger. The unit is built from heat-treated tool steel working parts riding in a lightweight 6061-T6 CNC-machined aluminum housing, with a wire-EDM cut, nickel-coated hammer meant to hold up over the long haul.

Installing the Timney 680 Sear Pack

This is about as painless as gun work gets. The Tavor was clearly designed with easy trigger swaps in mind, so there's no gunsmithing involved. You clear the rifle, push out the two retainer pins, pull the factory sear pack, drop the Timney unit in its place, and reinstall the pins. It uses your rifle's original hammer and trigger pivot pins, so no extra parts are needed, and plenty of owners have this whole thing done in under a minute.

One thing worth knowing up front: this sear pack fits the standard IWI Tavor and is not compatible with the Tavor 7. If you're running a Tavor SAR or X95 and you've been living with that heavy factory pull, this is the fix people reach for.
