Description
Timber Creek Outdoors took a different route with the Heart Breaker. Instead of the usual angular ports everybody else runs, they machined two wide heart-shaped ports into the body. As gases exit the muzzle and hit those ports, they get forced out both horizontally and vertically, which cuts down muzzle rise and recoil in a big way. A pair of circular ports up top handles the last bit of climb. It looks like a beefy, no-nonsense brake at a glance, and the heart shape only shows itself once you look close.
This version is built for 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 Grendel, threaded 5/8"-24 to fit standard barrels in those chamberings. It fits bore diameters of .308 or less on that thread pitch, so plenty of common calibers running 5/8"-24 will work as long as the threads match. The Black Cerakote finish gives it solid corrosion resistance and a clean, uniform look that pairs nicely with just about any build.
What Sets the Heart Breaker Apart
The big draw here is the locking nut system. Rather than fighting with a crush washer and hoping your timing lands right, you thread the brake on with the top ports facing up, then snug the locking nut against the rear to lock everything in place. It makes indexing repeatable and secure, and once it's torqued down it stays put. Folks running it on 6.5 and .308 rifles consistently note a noticeable drop in recoil and easier follow-up shots compared to a bare muzzle or a plain compensator.
Living With the 6.5 Heart Breaker at the Range
Fair warning, a good brake does its job by redirecting gas and blast to the sides, so the Heart Breaker is loud and the concussion carries. That's the tradeoff for the flat-shooting control it delivers. On the bench or in a rapid string, that reduced climb keeps your sight picture steady and lets you spot your own hits. At 5.5 ounces it adds control without turning your muzzle into a boat anchor, and it's backed by Timber Creek's lifetime warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
What threads does this Heart Breaker muzzle brake use?
This model is cut for 5/8"-24 TPI, which is the standard thread pitch for most 6.5 Creedmoor and .308-class barrels. It's compatible with bore diameters of .308 or less on that thread pattern. Double-check your barrel's thread pitch before ordering so you get the right fit.
Do I need a crush washer to install it?
No, the Heart Breaker ships with a locking nut instead of relying on a crush washer. You thread the brake on with the top ports facing up, then tighten the locking nut against the rear of the brake to time and lock it in place. Many owners prefer this because it makes indexing repeatable and secure.
Is the Heart Breaker louder than a flash hider?
Yes. Like any effective muzzle brake, it works by venting gas and blast out to the sides, so it runs louder and throws more concussion than a flash hider or bare muzzle. That's the tradeoff for the noticeable reduction in recoil and muzzle rise it gives you. Solid hearing protection is a must for you and anyone shooting nearby.
Will this fit calibers other than 6.5 Creedmoor?
It will work on any rifle with a matching 5/8"-24 thread and a bore of .308 or less, which covers a lot of common chamberings beyond 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5 Grendel. The key is matching the thread pitch and staying within that bore size. If your barrel checks both boxes, you're good to go.
