This T1B-14 version is the newer configuration where the famous Cutts compensator is permanently attached to the finned barrel, bringing the total barrel length to 16.5 inches and trimming things down compared to the older 18 inch pinned-comp models. The result is the same unmistakable look in a slightly handier package.
Auto-Ordnance did not cut corners on the details. You get the vertical walnut foregrip, the detachable walnut buttstock, the finned barrel, and a blade front sight paired with an open adjustable rear. The blued steel receiver gives it real heft, right around 13 pounds, and that weight works in your favor. Combined with the soft-recoiling .45 ACP cartridge, this carbine is a genuinely pleasant, flat-shooting rifle that just about anyone can run comfortably all afternoon.
Out of the box you get a 20-round stick magazine, and unlike some other Thompson variants, the Deluxe receiver accepts both stick and drum magazines. That means the 50-round drum is on the table if you want to complete the full 1920s picture. It fires from a closed bolt as a semi-auto, one trigger pull per shot, and it runs best with quality brass-cased .45 ACP ammunition.
