The TekMat Ultra 20 is built for folks who want a dedicated spot to break down and clean their Glock 42 or 43 without turning the kitchen table into a mess. At a full 15 by 20 inches, it gives you room to spread out a completely disassembled pistol with space left over for punches, brushes, and your bottle of oil. The soft thermoplastic fiber top surface protects your slide and frame from scratches, and it won't stain when grease, solvent, or CLP inevitably ends up on it.
This one steps up from the standard TekMat with a thicker quarter-inch pad instead of the usual eighth-inch. That extra cushion gives it a premium feel and adds a bit of drop protection if a part slips out of your hand mid-cleaning. The vulcanized neoprene rubber backing grips your bench so the mat stays put while you're wrestling with a stubborn takedown, and it keeps oils and chemicals from soaking through to the surface underneath.
The surface is printed with a full exploded parts diagram of the 42 and 43, so if you ever forget which spring goes where, the answer is right in front of you. The graphics are done with dye-sublimation printing, which means the ink is baked into the fibers rather than screened on top. It won't scratch off, fade, or wear away no matter how many cleaning sessions it sees.
Stitched edges keep the mat from fraying or curling at the corners over time, which is usually the first thing to go on cheaper mats. When you're done, it rolls up and tucks away with the rest of your cleaning gear, then lays flat again the next time you unroll it. It's the kind of simple, well-made accessory you buy once and forget about because it just keeps working.
Yes, the Ultra 20 is printed with a diagram that covers both the Glock 42 and Glock 43. Since these compact single-stack pistols share a very similar layout, the same reference works for either model. The generous 15 by 20 inch surface easily handles a fully disassembled 42 or 43.
No, TekMat uses dye-sublimation printing that embeds the ink directly into the fibers rather than screening it on the surface. That means solvents, oil, and repeated wiping won't cause it to fade or scratch away. The graphics are made to last the life of the mat.
The Ultra 20 is a quarter-inch thick, which is double the eighth-inch padding on the original TekMat line. That added thickness gives it a more premium feel and a little extra cushion if a small part or the slide takes a tumble during cleaning. It also does a solid job keeping chemicals off your bench.
It can. The thermoplastic fiber top is oil and solvent resistant and won't stain the way a bare surface would, so you can wipe it down after a messy session. For heavier buildup, it holds up to a proper wash without harming the print or the rubber backing.
