The Thompson Center 9096R rifle stock pad is one of those simple upgrades that makes a real difference the moment you shoulder your rifle. It slips over your existing stock and adds a layer of cushioning where you need it most, taking the sting out of heavier calibers and long range sessions. The non-slip rubber surface grips your shoulder and holds its position, so your cheek weld and mount stay consistent from the first shot to the last.
Beyond soaking up recoil, this pad earns its keep with onboard storage. It carries 1/2 inch wide elastic loops that hold five loose rounds, keeping your next shots within easy reach whether you are working a stand or running drills at the range. There is also a zippered pouch built in, which is handy for stashing small odds and ends like a lens cloth, spare loops, or dope cards. The surface is weather resistant and field tested, so it shrugs off damp mornings and rough handling without complaint.
Thompson Center designed this as a universal fit, so it plays nice with a wide range of rifle stocks rather than being locked to one model. That makes it an easy pickup if you own more than one long gun or just want to bounce it between setups. Slipping it on and off takes seconds, which is a nice touch when it comes time to clean or case your rifle.
For hunters and range regulars who want a little more comfort and a smarter way to carry ammo, the 9096R hits a sweet spot. It is straightforward, rugged, and built by a name that has been making quality shooting gear for decades.
This pad is built as a universal fit, so it slips over a wide variety of rifle stocks rather than being tied to a single model. It goes on and comes off in seconds, which makes it easy to move between different long guns. If you own more than one rifle, that flexibility is a real bonus.
The 9096R has 1/2 inch wide elastic loops that hold five loose rounds. They keep your spare cartridges snug and within reach, which is handy on a stand or at the bench. The elastic grips common rifle rounds well so they stay put while you move.
Yes, the pad adds a cushioning layer between your shoulder and the stock to soften felt recoil, which is especially welcome on heavier calibers and longer sessions. The non-slip rubber also keeps the pad from shifting, so your mount and cheek weld stay consistent shot to shot. Think of it as a comfort and stability upgrade rolled into one.
The built-in zippered pouch is sized for small accessories like a lens cloth, dope cards, or a few extra rounds. It is a convenient spot to keep the little items you would otherwise dig through your pack for. Everything stays attached to your rifle and ready to grab.
