Thompson Center 209 Primer Adapter for Black Diamond & Woods 50 Cal

Description

The Thompson Center 209 Primer Adapter is one of those small parts that makes a real difference in the field. If you're running a T/C Black Diamond or Woods rifle set up for #11 percussion caps, this stainless adapter lets you move over to 209 shotgun primers, which have become the go-to standard for inline muzzleloaders. The reason is simple: 209s throw a hotter spark and a faster burn, so you get more dependable ignition in cold, damp, or less-than-ideal hunting conditions.

What the T/C 209 Primer Adapter Does

This piece installs into the breech plug and is machined to accept a 209 primer in place of a cap. Built from stainless steel, it's made to hold up to repeated ignition and the wear that comes with regular range and hunting use. One thing worth knowing up front: this adapter is designed to work alongside the correct 209 striker, so make sure your rifle is set up for that or you have the matching striker on hand before heading out.

Fits the Black Diamond and Woods Rifles

Thompson Center built this adapter specifically for the Black Diamond and Woods platforms, so it drops right in where it's supposed to. It isn't meant for the Encore 209×50, Omega, or Thunderhawk, so double-check your model if you're running something else in the T/C lineup. Folks who've made the swap on the compatible rifles report it fits like it should and gets them shooting 209s without any fuss.

There's a lot to like about keeping ignition consistent, and going with a factory-original T/C part takes the guesswork out of it. If you want the reliability of modern 209 ignition without buying a whole new rifle, this adapter is the straightforward way to get there. Installation is quick, and many shooters prefer having a gunsmith set it up if they're not comfortable working on their own breech plug.
