The TacFire UP01C2 is a stripped AR-15 upper receiver that takes a lot of the busywork out of your next build. It's machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, the same tough aircraft-grade material the platform was designed around, and wears a black hardcoat anodized finish that holds up to handling, cleaning, and years of range time. It's chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO and will run .223 Rem right alongside it, so you've got flexibility on ammo without giving anything up.
Where a lot of bare uppers leave you sourcing small parts, this one arrives with the forward assist assembly, the dust cover assembly, and an A2 style charging handle already installed. That means you're not hunting down a roll pin kit or fighting a spring-loaded dust cover on your kitchen table. Pull it out of the box and it's already most of the way there.
The receiver is cut with M4 feed ramps, which help guide rounds into the chamber and keep cycling smooth, especially with shorter barrels and mid-length or carbine gas systems. It's built to mil-spec dimensions, so it drops onto standard AR-15 lowers and plays nice with the aftermarket barrels, handguards, and gas systems you're already looking at. Overall length runs about 7.5 inches, right where you'd expect for a flattop upper.
To finish this into a running upper, you'll add a bolt carrier group, barrel, gas block, gas tube, handguard, and a muzzle device. That's the fun part, and it's where you get to dial in exactly the rifle or pistol build you're after. The receiver itself is marked for .223 Rem / 5.56x45mm NATO, but chamber tolerances are determined by the barrel you install, not the upper. If you want the flexibility to run both, choose a barrel with a 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde chamber. A 5.56-chambered barrel safely handles both cartridges.
