The TacFire 6.5 Creedmoor build kit is the shortcut for anyone with a stripped AR-10 lower waiting for a project. It brings together the barrel, upper receiver, handguard, gas system, bolt carrier group, and all the small parts you need to finish a serious long-range rig. The centerpiece is a 20-inch 6.5 Creedmoor barrel with a 1:8 twist and a black nitride finish, sitting on a DPMS-pattern LR-308 low-profile upper. That 20-inch length is the sweet spot for the Creedmoor round, giving you plenty of velocity for reaching out past 1,000 yards while staying manageable enough to carry in the field.
This is a fairly complete package. You get the nitride barrel with a NiB-treated extension, an A2 birdcage flash hider with crush washer, a .750 low-profile gas block, a mid-length gas tube, and a 15-inch .308 M-LOK free-float handguard with 5/8×24 muzzle threads. Round that out with an AR-10/.308 charging handle, dust cover, forward assist, the AR-10 .308 bolt carrier group, plus the buffer tube, 3.8 oz heavy buffer, spring, castle nut, end plate, and an enhanced pistol grip.
Black nitride, sometimes called QPQ or Melonite, is a surface treatment that hardens the steel and cuts down on friction. It resists corrosion and holds up to long range sessions without eating into accuracy. No, the stripped lower receiver is not part of this kit. It's designed to finish a DPMS LR-308 pattern lower you already have. You'll also need a lower parts kit and a stock or brace, along with a magazine, to complete a working rifle.
It's built to DPMS LR-308 pattern, which is the most common AR-10 style on the market. It drops onto a standard DPMS-style lower without extra fitting. Armalite-pattern AR-10 lowers use a different geometry, so stick with DPMS for a clean fit.
