The TacFire SSRK308LPK20BN is a Sports South exclusive build kit that hands you nearly everything for a full-size AR-10 in .308 Winchester. It's built on the DPMS pattern, which is the smart move if you're new to the 308 platform, since parts, magazines, and accessories are far easier to track down than the ArmaLite pattern. Everything here works together out of the box, so you're not left guessing whether your handguard clocks up with your upper or if your buffer is heavy enough for the cartridge.
The centerpiece is a 20-inch .308 Winchester barrel finished in black nitride, threaded 5/8×24 so you can run a muzzle device or suppressor down the road. It rides under a 15-inch low-profile slim M-LOK handguard that gives you plenty of real estate for a bipod, light, or hand stop while keeping the profile lean. The kit also includes a DPMS low-profile Gen 3 stripped upper, an AR-10/.308 aluminum charging handle with a steel latch, dust cover, forward assist, and a DPMS-profile bolt carrier group. That BCG is the engine of the rifle, and having it matched to the upper takes the guesswork out.
On the back end you get a Mil-Spec aluminum buffer tube, castle nut, and receiver end plate, plus an AR-10 3.8 oz heavy buffer with spring. That heavier buffer matters on a .308 build because it tames the extra recoil impulse the bigger cartridge throws at the system. Rounding it out is a Mil-Spec M4-style 6-position stock with a QD sling swivel and butt pad, an enhanced pistol grip, and a .308 lower parts kit.
