The TacFire BU30816 takes most of the guesswork out of a .308 build. It shows up as a complete upper chambered in .308 Win / 7.62 NATO, running a 16" barrel that keeps the rifle short enough to move around a tree stand or truck cab while still putting real energy downrange. The barrel is 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a black nitride finish, which handles heat and shrugs off moisture better than a plain phosphate coat. A 1:10 twist stabilizes the common 150 to 178 grain loads most folks feed a .308, so it plays nice with everything from cheap range fodder to heavier hunting bullets.
The receiver is 7075-T6 aluminum with a black anodized finish and a full-length Picatinny top rail, giving you room for a scope, red dot, or a mix of glass and backup irons. Out front is a 15" M-LOK free-float handguard, so nothing but the barrel nut touches the barrel and your accuracy isn't fighting a hand guard clamped to the gas system. The M-LOK slots let you bolt on lights, lasers, bipods, and hand stops wherever they make sense for you, and there's a short rail section at the muzzle end if you want it. The barrel wears a .750" gas block journal and 5/8×24 muzzle threads with an A2 flash hider already installed.

That means once you pair it with a compatible DPMS-pattern .308 lower, you're close to range-ready. It's cut to the DPMS low-profile pattern, so it lines up with the most common AR-10 style lowers out there rather than proprietary designs. Sights aren't included since it's optic-ready, which keeps your options open to set it up exactly how you shoot.
It's built to the DPMS low-profile .308 pattern, so it mates up with common DPMS Gen 1 style AR-10 lowers. It is not cut for Armalite-spec or fully proprietary systems like the DD5. If you're unsure about a specific lower, matching it to a DPMS-pattern .308 lower is the safe bet.
