The Ruger 10/22 is one of the most tinkered-with rifles on the planet, and swapping the barrel is where a lot of folks start. The Tactical Solutions X-Ring is built to make that swap count. It pairs a hand-chambered chromoly-steel bore with a 6061-T6 aluminum shroud, so you get the accuracy of a steel bore with a fraction of the weight of a solid steel bull barrel. Fluting trims even more mass while keeping the profile stiff, and the .920" outside diameter drops right into standard bull-barrel stocks and chassis.

Weight is the headline here. At right around 15 ounces, this barrel takes a huge chunk of front-end heft out of your rifle, and you feel it the second you shoulder it. The 11-degree target crown and 1:16 twist keep standard .22 LR rounds stabilized and grouping tight, and plenty of owners report rounds touching at close range once they get it dialed in.

Threading and Setup on the X-Ring 16.5" Barrel

The muzzle comes cut with a standard 1/2×28 thread pattern, so a rimfire suppressor, a TacSol compensator, or just about any .22-caliber muzzle device threads right on with no adapter. It ships with a thread protector machined to match the .920" profile, giving you that clean, all-one-piece look when you're running the barrel bare. Install is the same straightforward job as any 10/22 barrel: pull the two V-block screws, slide out the factory barrel, and drop this one in. No gunsmithing needed, though the shank runs tight on some receivers, which is exactly what you want for a solid lockup.

Keep in mind this is the .920" bull contour, so it needs a bull-channel stock or chassis rather than a factory wood sporter stock. Match it to a Magpul X-22, a Hogue overmolded, or an aluminum chassis and you've got the makings of a seriously accurate, feather-light rimfire build.
