If you've ever tried to get a scope mounted solid on a Thompson/Center Encore, you know a quality base makes all the difference. This EGW one-piece Picatinny rail is machined from domestic 6061-T6 extruded aluminum and finished in matte black anodizing, so it holds zero and shrugs off the knocks that come with hunting and range days. The Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which lets you position your scope rings exactly where your eye relief wants them instead of fighting the setup.
This mount is built specifically for the T/C Encore, and it also fits the Omega, Triumph, Impact, Pro Hunter, and FX muzzleloader. The center spread measures .838 inches, which is the distance between the two middle receiver holes, and the whole rail runs 5.488 inches long and sits about 0.4 inches high off the top of the receiver. That low profile means in a lot of cases it won't block your factory iron sights, which is a nice bonus if you like keeping a backup sighting option.
The 0 MOA cant on this base keeps everything flat and level, which is exactly what EGW recommends for shooting inside 500 yards. If you're hunting whitetail, running a muzzleloader, or punching paper at typical distances, this is the version you want. Stretch past that range and a 20 MOA base starts to earn its keep, but for the vast majority of Encore owners the flat 0 MOA setup is the right call.
Installation is straightforward since the mount comes with the hardware you need. EGW recommends torquing the screws to around 20 inch-pounds with a drop of blue Loctite to keep things locked in through recoil. The Picatinny slots accept both Picatinny and Weaver-style rings, so you've got plenty of flexibility when it comes to pairing it with your optic of choice. At roughly 2 ounces, it adds a steady base without weighing down your setup.
