The Shield Plus is what happened when Smith & Wesson took their best-selling carry pistol and fixed the one thing everyone asked about: capacity. You get 13+1 with the extended magazines and 10+1 with the flush-fit mag, all in a frame that stays 1.1 inches wide and fits most holsters made for the original Shield. At 20.2 ounces with a 6.1 inch overall length, it disappears under a t-shirt but still gives you enough grip to hang onto during rapid strings.
This particular model, SKU 13250, comes from the factory with tritium night sights front and rear, so your sight picture doesn't quit when the light does. The front sight wears an orange ring for fast pickup in daylight too. The flat face trigger breaks around five pounds with a tactile, audible reset, and the flat profile helps you index your finger the same way every press. The grip texture is a noticeable upgrade over the older M2.0 stippling: grippy enough to control recoil, but it won't chew up your side during a full day of carry. The 18 degree grip angle points naturally, and takedown happens without pulling the trigger thanks to the sear deactivation lever.

In most cases, yes. Smith & Wesson kept the Shield Plus frame and slide dimensions nearly identical to the legacy Shield, so the majority of Shield holsters work fine. It's still smart to confirm fitment with your holster maker, since some molded kydex rigs are cut tighter than others.
This model ships with factory-installed tritium night sights on both the front and rear. The front sight also has an orange ring around the tritium vial, which makes it quick to pick up in daylight while the glowing dots handle low-light work. No aftermarket sight swap needed.

No, this model is the no-thumb-safety configuration. It still has a trigger safety and S&W's internal safety systems, and the striker-fired design keeps operation simple: draw, aim, press. If you prefer a manual safety, S&W offers the Shield Plus in that configuration under a different part number.
