Yes, the 5 inch barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 with a thread protector, so it accepts common muzzle devices and suppressors right out of the box. Keep in mind that 5.7x28mm supersonic loads will still produce a crack downrange, so pair it with subsonic ammo if you want it as quiet as possible. Some subsonic loads may need the added backpressure of a suppressor to cycle reliably.
This particular model, MPN 13348, ships without a manual thumb safety, relying instead on a trigger safety and internal firing pin block. If you prefer an external safety, Smith & Wesson does offer the M&P 5.7 in a thumb safety configuration under a different part number.
