Description
The Streamlight TLR RM 1 Laser is a compact all-in-one lighting and aiming system built for AR-15s, SBRs, AR pistols, and just about any long gun with a Picatinny or NATO rail. It pushes out 500 lumens of white light through an HPL face cap that concentrates the beam for a tighter, farther reach, along with an integrated 640-660nm red aiming laser for quick point-and-shoot accuracy. The whole package rides low on the rail so it stays out of the way of your other gear.
What Sets the TLR RM 1 Laser Apart
The standout feature here is the dual-switch setup. You get an ambidextrous push-button tail switch on the light itself plus a separate remote pressure switch that exits at a 90-degree angle, which keeps your wire routing clean and preserves rail space. Both operate independently, so if one ever gives you trouble, you've still got a way to light things up. A three-position mode selector toggle lets you run light only, laser only, or light and laser together, and a quick double-tap kicks over to strobe.
Runtime and Build on the RM 1
Runtimes are dialed in for real-world use: about 1.5 hours on the LED or the LED and laser combo, roughly 3 hours in strobe, and up to 60 hours running the laser by itself off a single CR123A lithium battery. The safe-off feature prevents accidental activation and saves your battery when the light is stowed. The body is machined from 6000 series aircraft aluminum with a Type II Mil-Spec anodized finish, topped with impact-resistant Borofloat glass, and it carries an IPX4 water-resistant rating.
Mounting the TLR RM 1 to Your Setup
Mounting is a one-handed job thanks to the snap-on and tighten interface that keeps your fingers well clear of the muzzle. The included key kit lets it adapt to a broad range of weapons, and at right around 3 ounces it adds barely any weight to your build. It comes packaged as a complete kit with everything you need to get it on the gun and running.

Frequently Asked Questions
What guns does the TLR RM 1 fit?
It's designed for long guns with a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny or NATO rail, so think AR-15s, SBRs, AR pistols, and similar tactical rifles. The included key kit lets it adapt across a broad range of platforms. The one-handed snap-on interface keeps your hands away from the muzzle while you mount or remove it.
Does the Streamlight TLR RM 1 come with a battery?
Yes, it ships with one CR123A lithium battery included, so you can get it running right out of the box. You'll get around 1.5 hours on the light or the light and laser combo, and up to 60 hours if you're just running the laser. The safe-off feature helps preserve battery life when it's not in use.
How do the two switches on the TLR RM 1 work?
You get an ambidextrous push-button tail switch built into the light plus a separate remote pressure switch that exits at 90 degrees for cleaner wire routing. Both operate independently, meaning you always have a backup way to activate the light. A quick press gives you constant-on, holding it down gives momentary, and a fast double-tap triggers strobe.
What's the difference between the light and laser modes?
A three-position mode selector toggle lets you choose light only, laser only, or light and laser together. The 500-lumen white LED handles illumination and target ID, while the integrated red aiming laser helps with fast, intuitive point-and-shoot accuracy. You can run them separately or combine them depending on the situation.
