The Streamlight TL-Racker solves that by building the light straight into the forend itself. Instead of clamping a scout light to a rail and running a pressure switch back under your grip, you drop the whole factory pump and replace it with this. The light, the switches, and the battery compartment all live inside one piece, so there are no cords to fail and nothing to catch on gear or a doorway.
Output is a genuine 1,000 lumens backed by 20,000 candela, throwing a usable beam out to roughly 283 meters. That is far more reach than any indoor engagement calls for, and the extra candela means you can identify what is in front of you at hallway distance without getting blinded by bounce-back off your own walls. The white LED sits behind an O-ring and gasket-sealed Borofloat glass lens inside a machined aluminum head, wrapped in an impact-resistant nylon body that shrugs off hard use.
Activation is fully ambidextrous. An elongated pressure pad runs down both sides of the forend so a normal support-hand grip falls right onto it during a pump stroke, and it fits about any hand size. You get both momentary and constant-on, with the constant toggle sitting just inboard of the momentary pad. Power comes from two CR123A lithium cells (included) that give you about 1.5 hours of continuous runtime.
