The stock magazine release on a Gen4 or Gen5 Glock is one of those parts most folks end up wishing they could reach a little easier, especially if you've got smaller hands or you're running the gun hard on the range. Strike Industries built this modular release to fix exactly that. Instead of a one-size setup, you get two swappable button faces so you can pick the profile that lets you dump a mag without breaking your firing grip.
The two button faces are CNC milled from 6061 aluminum with aggressive texturing on the push pad, so your thumb stays put even with sweaty hands or gloves on. Under the hood, the internal release mechanism is molded from high density polymer. That polymer body is a smart touch since it rides against your magazine cutouts and frame, keeping wear down over thousands of reps compared to a metal-on-metal setup. You get smooth, positive ejection without chewing up your mags.
This release drops into a wide swath of the Glock lineup. It works with the Gen4 and Gen5 models 17, 19, 19X, 22, 23, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, and 45. It does not fit the slimline pistols, so the 36, 42, and 43 are out. If you're running a duty gun, a range blaster, or an everyday carry piece within that list, you're covered.
Installation is straightforward and most people knock it out at the bench in a few minutes with basic tools. Swapping between the two button faces is just as simple, so you can test both and settle on the one that feels right. The red anodized finish gives your build a clean pop of color without going overboard, and it holds up well to regular handling and holster wear.
It's built for Gen4 and Gen5 pistols, covering the 17, 19, 19X, 22, 23, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, and 45. It does not fit the slimline single stack guns, so the 36, 42, and 43 are not compatible. If your Glock is on that Gen4-5 list, you're good to go.
