The Cobra trigger guard from Strike Industries takes one of the most overlooked parts of an AR build and turns it into something worth talking about. Machined from aircraft-grade billet aluminum and dressed in Flat Dark Earth, it swaps out the plain stamped guard on a mil-spec lower for a sculpted piece that adds both function and a little personality. It weighs next to nothing at half an ounce, so you get the look and the feel without loading up the rifle.
Two features do the heavy lifting here. The hood at the top gives your trigger finger a hard index point, so you always know where your finger is resting when you are off the trigger. The bottom fang works as a funnel for the magazine well, helping guide mags in for quicker, more consistent reloads under pressure. It is a glove-friendly shape too, which matters if you run gloves at the range or in cold weather.
This one is designed for standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers and installs with the included M6 hex screws rather than roll pins, which a lot of builders appreciate since there is no pin to fight or mar the finish. Worth knowing ahead of time: it will not drop right onto Anderson mil-spec lowers without some fitting, and a handful of other lowers may need light work with a file or Dremel to line things up perfectly. If you are running a common Aero, standard mil-spec, or similar lower, most folks find it snugs in tight and stays put.
The FDE anodizing holds up well against wear and corrosion, and it pairs nicely with tan or two-tone builds. Keep in mind that anodized color can vary slightly batch to batch, which is normal for the process. If you want a trigger guard that looks aggressive, feels good in the hand, and pulls double duty as a reload aid, the Cobra earns its spot on the build sheet.
It is built for standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receivers and mounts with the included hex screws. It will not fit Anderson mil-spec lowers without modification, and a few other brands may need light filing or fitting to line up the screw holes. If you are running a common mil-spec lower, most builders get a tight, secure fit.
