The Strike Industries Cobra takes a part most folks never think twice about and turns it into something that pulls real weight on your build. It's cut from aircraft-grade aluminum, hard-coat anodized in a blue finish, and sculpted with two features that set it apart from the flat mil-spec guard it replaces: a raised hood up top and a fang underneath. At right around half an ounce, it won't add any noticeable heft to your lower.
The hood is the standout here. It gives your trigger finger a defined spot to rest off the trigger, so you're indexed and ready without your finger drifting or getting tired trying to hover in place. When it's time to re-engage, your finger drops right back onto the trigger from the same reference point every time. That kind of consistency matters whether you're running drills, shooting a match, or just plinking at the range and want the same feel shot after shot.
Underneath, the Cobra keeps the fang design carried over from Strike's popular polymer guard. That little protrusion sits below the mag well and acts as a funnel, guiding your magazine in cleaner and quicker during reloads. If you're wearing gloves, the wider, glove-friendly profile is a nice touch too.
This is a billet part, so it's precision machined and consistent piece to piece. It's designed for standard forged AR-platform lowers and installs with three included hex screws instead of the usual roll pin, which makes swapping it a straightforward job. Fitment can vary a bit depending on your specific lower, and some builds may want a little patience during install, but once it's seated it stays put rock solid.
