Strike Industries took the humble ejection port cover and gave it a real upgrade. The AR Ultimate Dust Cover swaps the thin stamped metal of a factory door for a high-density polymer build that won't rust, corrode, fade, or bend out of shape. The flag design is molded right into the material, not painted on top, so it holds up round after round without wearing away. At roughly 0.3 ounces it barely adds any weight to your build, and the enhanced version runs thinner than the original so it plays nice with a wider range of receivers.
The standout here is the patent-pending True Seal lip. Instead of just loosely draping over the ejection port like a stock cover, the internal lip nests into the port for a positive seal that keeps grit, dust, and moisture out of your receiver while you're in the field. It's a small change that makes a real difference if you shoot in dusty or wet conditions.
This is where the UDC earns its name. A spring-loaded internal detent rod and a cut-out access window let you install or pull the cover in about 5 to 10 seconds, no fussing with tiny C-clips or hog rings like the factory setup. There's also a built-in adjustable set screw that lets you dial in the opening tension, which is handy for compensating on a worn receiver or just setting the snap the way you like it. Applying a dab of blue threadlocker to the detent screw after adjusting keeps everything put.
The cover is built for AR-15, M4, and M16 upper receivers chambered in .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO, and it works on mil-spec and most billet uppers, including the Aero Precision M4E1. A few uppers with unusual geometry, like the VLTOR MUR and ZRO Delta, aren't compatible, so it's worth knowing your receiver before ordering. For most standard builds, it's a straight drop-in that instantly cleans up the look of the rifle.

Yes, that's what the adjustable set screw is for. Use a small flathead to depress the ball detent and adjust the tension until it opens and closes the way you want. Strike Industries recommends adding a bit of blue threadlocker to the detent thread once you have it dialed in so it stays put.
