Precision shooters running a semi-auto gas gun have long wished the humble Magpul CTR could feel more like a dedicated bolt-gun stock. That is exactly the gap Arisaka Defense set out to close. The Stock Angle Adapter bolts onto your existing CTR and re-angles the recoil pad so it sits perpendicular to the bore axis, giving you a flatter, more consistent shoulder contact and a rear end that actually helps you drive the rifle.
Developed alongside Mike Olivella of Praecore Performance, this adapter does three things worth caring about: it corrects the pad angle, it adds height and cant adjustment so you can dial the fit to your own build and optic height, and it opens the stock up to run Magpul SL, SL Enhanced, or SL Limbsaver pads. Keep in mind the factory CTR pad does not work with the adapter, so you will pair it with one of those SL-style pads. The payoff is a rear support surface with a little extra real estate for bag work and a cheek-to-pad relationship that mirrors a precision rig.
If you are building out an LMT MWS, KAC SR25, or a similar semi-auto precision platform, this is where the adapter earns its keep. The squared pad and the ability to tune height and cant let you settle into the same natural position shot after shot, which pays off when you are stacking hits at distance or shooting off a rear bag.
It is CNC machined from 6061-T651 aluminum and finished with a MIL-A-8625 Type III hardcoat anodize, so it holds up to real range time and rough handling. The whole piece weighs about 3.5 ounces and adds roughly 0.70 inches to your length of pull, measured at the middle of the pad. It is made in the USA and fits the Magpul CTR, STR, ACS, ACS-L, and MOE carbine stocks, though it will not work with the MOE Fixed Stock.
No. The OEM CTR pad will not fit the Stock Angle Adapter. You need to run a Magpul SL, SL Enhanced, or SL Limbsaver pad, which are sold separately.
It fits the Magpul CTR, STR, ACS, ACS-L, and MOE carbine stocks. It does not work with the Magpul MOE Fixed Stock, so double-check which stock you have before ordering.
On a gas gun, angling the pad perpendicular to the bore axis gives you flatter, more repeatable shoulder contact and better recoil management. Combined with the height and cant adjustment, it lets you fit the rifle to your body much like a dedicated precision bolt-gun stock.
It adds roughly 0.70 inches to your length of pull, measured at the middle of the pad. That is worth keeping in mind if you already run a longer LOP, though the added rear surface area is a plus for bag work.
