The Hellcat OSP launched in 2019 and immediately flipped the script on what people expected from a micro-compact carry pistol. At only 6 inches overall and a grip width of exactly 1 inch, it disappears under a t-shirt while still putting 11+1 rounds in your hand with the flush magazine and 13+1 when you drop in the included extended mag. That kind of capacity in that size of package was genuinely unheard of when this gun hit the market, and it still holds its own in a crowded field.
The OSP part of the name stands for Optical Sight Pistol. The rear of the billet-machined slide has a factory-cut optics deck with a removable cover plate, compatible with popular micro red dot footprints like the Shield RMSc and JP Enterprises JPoint. Drop a dot on it or leave the plate in place and run iron sights. Either way, the gun comes ready to work out of the box with Springfield's tritium and luminescent U-Dot front sight paired with a Tactical Rack U-notch rear. That front sight is bright, fast, and visible whether you're in a dim parking garage or full daylight.
The barrel is a 3-inch hammer-forged steel unit with a Melonite finish and a 1:10 twist rate. The same Melonite coating covers the slide, giving both components solid corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The frame is black polymer with Springfield's Adaptive Grip Texture, which uses a pattern of staggered pyramids designed to grip harder the more pressure you apply. For carry comfort, the taller peaks are flattened so the texture stays skin-friendly against the body. The flat-faced trigger uses a nickel boron-coated group underneath, and the mag release is reversible at the user level. There's also a standard accessory rail on the dust cover for a compact light or laser, a loaded chamber indicator, and front and rear slide serrations including the top-of-slide serrations for positive racking in awkward positions.
