At the core of the design is the Central Operating Group (COG), a serialized stainless steel chassis that houses all the fire control components. Instead of committing to one optic footprint cut into the slide, Springfield uses a set of self-locking pins that reconfigure to accept over 30 different red dot sights natively, covering RMR, DeltaPoint Pro, and Shield footprints without any adapter plate. Mounting directly to the slide keeps the optic lower and more stable, and Springfield also offers optional plates for Aimpoint ACRO and Docter footprints. Three pin sets are included in the box.
This 15-round variant ships with two 15-round magazines in place of the standard 17 and 20-round setup. Iron sights are the tritium luminescent front paired with a Tactical Rack U-Dot rear, a combination that works well in low light and gives you a clean, fast sight picture. Controls are fully ambidextrous, the trigger guard is undercut and oversized for use with gloves, and the slide serrations are deeply machined front and rear with a geometry that makes for a solid grip whether your hands are dry or wet.
