The 1:8 twist stabilizes the long, high-BC bullets that make 7mm PRC shine, and the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 with Springfield's radial brake installed to take the sting out of the magnum recoil. The Model 2020 action runs dual locking lugs on EDM-cut raceways for a smooth, repeatable bolt throw, and the lock time is a blistering 1.9 milliseconds, so there is less time for wobble between trigger break and primer strike.
