Instead of the flat, boxy shape of a standard mil-spec guard, this one has a faceted bottom line and the classic Spike's spider logo, so it ties into your lower receiver instead of clashing with it. The winning feature is the extra clearance inside the guard, which gives you room to run a trigger finger even with shooting gloves or cold-weather gloves on.
This is a billet part, machined from aluminum and finished in mil-spec Type III hardcoat anodizing, so it holds up to the same abuse as the rest of your build without chipping or wearing thin. It's a drop-in replacement designed for standard AR-pattern lowers and looks especially at home on a Spike's Tactical receiver. It's also been fitted to larger .308-style lowers by owners. As long as your lower uses a standard trigger guard mounting setup, this one will drop right in.
