Springfield Armory took a hard look at the original Saint Victor and made real changes where they count, and this V2 in Tungsten Gray is the result. The old government-profile barrel is gone, replaced by a 16 inch 4150 CMV continuous-taper barrel with a nitride finish that handles heat better during long range sessions and stiffens up the front end. A taper-pinned low-profile gas block feeds a mid-length gas system for smooth, soft cycling, and the four-prong flash hider up front does a nice job cutting muzzle flash. Inside, the enhanced M16-pattern bolt carrier group runs a 9310 steel bolt that gets HP and MPI tested, with a nitride finish and hard-chromed firing pin for long service life.

Controls and Furniture Worth Keeping

This is where the Victor V2 separates itself from budget ARs. The Radian Raptor-LT ambidextrous charging handle and 45-degree short-throw ambi safety come standard from the factory, upgrades most people end up buying anyway. B5 Systems supplies the Enhanced SOPMOD stock and Type 23 pistol grip, and the flat-faced nickel boron trigger breaks clean for a factory rifle. The free-float aluminum handguard uses Springfield's Triple-Lock mounting system with a full-length Picatinny top rail, M-LOK slots all around, and integrated QD cups so you can mount a sling wherever it suits you.

Forged 7075-T6 receivers with the Accu-Tite tension system keep the upper and lower snug with no rattle, and the cleaned-up markings give the rifle a much more refined look than earlier Saints. New low-profile flip-up sights fold down flat, which matters if you plan to run an LPVO or a magnifier behind a red dot. This version includes one 10-round Magpul PMAG, and with a 1:8 twist barrel it stabilizes everything from 55 grain plinking loads to heavier match bullets.
