The S&W Performance Center Pro Series sits in an interesting spot in the lineup. It's not a standard production gun with a fancy box, and it's not a full custom shop build either. The result is a full-size 5-inch government-frame 1911 chambered in 9mm, built on an all-stainless slide and frame with a clean matte silver finish and real wood grips.
Under the hood is where this pistol earns its Performance Center badge. The barrel feed ramp is hand polished, the muzzle is precision crowned, and the hammer and sear are stoned for a trigger pull that comes in crisp and consistent without the grittiness you often feel on standard production guns. The skeletonized trigger includes an overtravel adjustment, the ambidextrous thumb safety is oversized, and the beavertail grip safety features a memory bump for a naturally high and consistent grip every time.
